colouring with cousins - i love how focused everyone is!
it was great to get together with our cousin eric and his wife les and their kids, molly, finny and luke. (i've linked to her blog several times - it's one of my only regular-reads...) if it feels like steve and i a few steps behind them, it's because we are - eric played professional basketball in europe for many years, and we face the transition they made not too too long ago some time soon. we had an awesome visit and dinner with them at the arbutus club - hendrik coloured with finny and played ping pong (with molly and luke too) while the big people caught up, and after supper the kids ran around in the gym (hendrik showed off his bumps) before we drove home in the pouring, bucketing rain.

With four days to go (!!) until we fly to Beijing, there are lots of lists (oh so many things to do) and lots of tabs open in this browser. I'm tired - today was full, but great; it was sunny, and Hendrik and Alana and I got some quality time in at the beach. And we had some super quality time with Sarah (reading, walking, talking, eating, dancing), in town for the weekend. Now, to bed!! (Solid, detail-oriented blog coming soon, really.......)
It was so great to see you guys. I don't think I will ever forget Hendrik bumping! I will be thinking of you on Thursday and sending good vibes. It will be a piece of cake.
