our tree! teeny, but cute. there are a few presents under (/wedged in there) now... all for hendrik!
bountiful table goodness: wine from luciano's basement bottega and on overflowing fruit bowl - love it!
mom at work: last week's lasagna in progress...

hendrik's favourite toy? boxes. and yes, here is the evidence of not one but two demolished pandoros... cake heaven!
drawing with dad :)

the walk was a bit brisk yesterday morning; heading out of vela on our way to parco dos trento, with dusty mountains in the distance
friday, at the centro genitori e bambini... still loving it!
hendrik is still not so overly interested in playing with the other kids, but there are interactions and observations made, and he seems to be enjoying himself. it was smooth sailing until we circled up to sing songs and then - ever so slowly - happy turned to pout turned to tears... he was a tired little muffin!
last night i went with antonella to watch and listen to SOSAT, a choir that her hubby luciano sings in; it was amazing! they sang a mix of christmas and traditional regional songs, and it made me want to do that kind of thing more - no, not just get out of the house sans baby (pah!) - but go to musical shows and concerts etc. and with canadian babysitters galore soon to be in town, perhaps .... perhaps ...

afternoon swinging: december 18, 12 1/2 months
vince p has been for for the past few days (which has been great), and he brought gifts! and man oh man is this one ever a winner; an NHL kiddie hockey set complete with two nets and two sticks. hendrik got right in there and so did dad... do I have to break out the "no playing in the house" cackle already? "BOYS, go to the garage you're going to bust a window!" Hm, wellllll actually, I might be right in the game with them. So fun!
vince, hendrik and i spent yesterday afternoon in town, wandering and eating. from l-r, top to bottom: chocolates in all sorts of shapes at my favourite market stall; the ceiling at a cafe where we stopped for coffee and treats; the central piazza, trees, christmas goodies, hendrik oggling at the ceiling, the two of us, and treats of choice for me and vince... yum.
