three going on four |

I can not believe how lucky we were to get an extra seat in our row of three on yesterday's oversold full full flight - ! After that trip I'd say that it's entirely worth it to pay for the extra seat, for peace of mind and peace of body; our boy is getting big and is not so into sitting in one place (someone's lap) for 4+ hours, especially if it's mom's lap (tres cramped with expanding belly). I've never seen him get himself together so quickly as when the flight attendant offered him ice cream - leftovers from business class; he followed orders like she was a drill sergeant - sit down? yes ma'am. seatbelt on? on the double. please and thank you? done and done. As with most goodies that he likes (cake, cookies, ice cream, yam fries), he asked for more as soon as the last bit was gonzo; I'm sure he would have licked the paper cup clean if we'd let him. The other four hours and twelve minutes of the 4:15 flight were spent watching the froggy on tv ("froggy 'gain" he'd say - I think it was actually Dorothy the Dinosaur we were watching), reading, eating, squirming, kicking, walking around and looking out the window. Thanks to Steve's new Gold or Elite or whoknowswhat status, our bags were some of the first to hit the belt after touchdown, so we were curbside with Dan with bags in the car fast fast fast. As soon as Hendrik saw him he put his hands out in question and said, "Freddie go?" - where's Freddie? - and Duff has come up in conversation since too, so it's not like he's going to forget these guys any time soon. We've been knocking things off our to-do list all day (in-cuh-luding a doc appt - I had to wait ONE hour before seeing the nurse for less than five minutes - that was my appt), and hope to have things wrapped up, put together and packed for a tomorrow afternoon nap-time-departure for the Crowe's Nest. From one cottage to another we go.... ain't life rough? Some pics from the rest of our time out west:

Our plans for the month are a bit hazy, but what we
do know is that we'll be spending some time here in Ottawa/Gatineau, some time at the cottage and some time in Bowmanville/Toronto. After the upcoming Canada Day weekend, we'll head back to the Brinkman's where, on Wednesday, we will abandon our darling boy for a one-night anniversary getaway! eeeeek I'm so pumped! Steve wheeled us a deal at the Fairmont Royal York ON the Gold Floor and I. am. excited. It will be my first night away from my babe, so I'm hoping that neither of us experience too much withdrawal... we shall see. Okay, the to-do list is calling... see you in July!
